Airport Transportation
The hotel and downtown Chicago are approximately 10 miles
northeast of Midway Airport and 20 miles
southeast of O’Hare
International Airport. The hotel is served directly by shuttle
buses from both airports and is also convenient to commuter trains
and public
transportation.

Continental Air Transport / Airport Express Shuttle Service
Shuttle service to all downtown hotels is provided by Airport Express. Ticket booths are located in the baggage claim area at both airports. Busses run every 15 minutes. A reservation is not necessary for incoming passengers, but is recommended for all return trips and required for return trips to Midway. (See “Reservations for Departures” below.)
Note: Passengers will be dropped off according to their hotel location on the route. Given the number of stops that may be made on any service run, please allow at least one hour for arrival at the Fairmont.

Reservations for Departures: A return trip reservation is necessary
if you are departing from Midway, and is advisable for O’Hare.
Reservations may be made in advance (12-24 hours) with the hotel concierge
or front desk staff, or you may make your own reservation by calling
1-888-284-3826. A confirmation number will be provided. Airport Express
will pick up three hours prior to flight time to allow for other pickups
and to ensure adequate time for check-in at the airport. Please allow
a fifteen-minute window in scheduled pickup time.

Public Transportation — Chicago Transit Authority (CTA)
CTA trains from both airports will take you to downtown Chicago and
very close to the hotel. The basic fare is $2 each way. The hotel
is about 4 ½ blocks east of the CTA station at Randolph
Street and Wabash Avenue, and about the same distance from the
State Street
station which serves all lines. Any downtown stop is, at most,
a short cab ride away.
