Job Description: Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President
of Facilities Services, the Director of Real Estate will be responsible
for land planning in support of campus master planning activities.
As such, the position will work with campus departments, campus
administration and the City of Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County with
regard to campus development.
Qualifications: Five years relevant experience with a bachelors
degree or three years of relevant experience with a masters degree.
Experience should include a thorough knowledge of planning principles
and activities. A thorough knowledge of Nevada real estate law.
A thorough knowledge of condemnation proceedings, tenant/landlord
laws, offer and acceptance agreements, purchase options, and escrow
and title procedures. Knowledge of Board of Regents and university
policies and procedures. The ability to effectively negotiate real
estate transactions, set up appraisals, and manage property in the
best interests of the university and other BCN institutions. Supervisory
experience is required. A real estate license is preferred.
